COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY IN BATH, SOMERSET, WILTSHIRE AND ONLINE

Outdoor and Online Counselling Services

Nature-led counselling outdoors combines traditional psychotherapy with spiritual exploration with nature as a foundation to help deal with your difficulties or challenges and facilitate healing, stress reduction, and self-discovery.

Therapy Outside

As part of my approach, I offer sessions in a variety of outdoor settings, from parks to fields or woodland. These promote mental and physical well-being by fostering a connection with nature, boosting mood, and focus. This holistic approach integrates elements such as mindfulness and contemplation.

Working outside allows us to feel our shared connection to land and nature as we co-create our sessions, and it is ideal if you enjoy being outside. It is also great if you prefer movement to sitting still or find face-to-face eye contact too intense. During counselling sessions, we might ‘walk and talk’ or find a place to stay still, or both – this flexibility can be very powerful.

Therapy Online

I offer counselling sessions online or by phone for those who live further away or would prefer to work remotely. This can be a very convenient and flexible option if you don’t have time to spend travelling to a location away from home. You might prefer to undergo sessions from the comfort of your own home or use the opportunity to access sessions remotely from elsewhere. It might include a nature-based meditation before the session or taking some aspect of our session outside in between sessions.

Flexible Options

Life is often full and complicated, and a 60-minute session at the same time every week will not work for everyone. I offer flexible session lengths and timing, so we can figure out a structure that works for you. This could include a mixture of in-person and online sessions.

Block of Therapy Sessions

A reduced-cost package of 6 sessions to explore a particular issue or as an introduction to the outdoor therapy experience. Block therapy sessions offer a powerful way of achieving focused results.

What is Psychospiritual Therapy?

Holistic Approach

It views individuals as spiritual beings and integrates spiritual practices into the therapeutic process.

Meaning and Resilience:

The goal is to help individuals find meaning, purpose, and resilience by connecting with their inner selves.

Mindfulness and Contemplation

It often incorporates practices such as contemplation, reflection, meditation, and the exploration of spiritual beliefs.

The Role of Nature-led Therapy

• Healing Environment: The outdoors is a natural, calming, and healing environment for the therapeutic process.

• Stress and Anxiety Reduction: Connecting with the natural world is known to reduce stress and anxiety, thereby improving overall mental health.

• Enhanced Focus and Self-Esteem: Outdoor settings can help improve focus and attention and boost self-esteem.

• Direct Experience: The interconnectivity with nature can be directly experienced and consciously engaged with during therapy sessions.
